Bankruptcy prediction modelling in the environment of V4 countries
Suchánek, Aleš ; Režňáková, Mária (referee) ; Karas, Michal (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on the construction of a new bankruptcy model designed for small and medium-sized enterprises in the construction industry in the environment of the Visegrad Four countries. The first part of the thesis is focused on defining the concepts of bankruptcy, bankruptcy model and their placement in the historical context, followed by a description of selected bankruptcy models, a brief description of the construction industry and an analysis of constuction sector. In the practical part, the reliability of selected bankruptcy models is tested and then a new bankruptcy model is constructed.

Selected aspects of immunopathogenesis of HIV infection
Bartovská, Zofia ; Holub, Michal (advisor) ; Boštík, Pavel (referee) ; Marešová, Vilma (referee)
Introduction: Virus-specific CD8+ T cells are crucial to suppress the viral replication in HIV infection. Their functional status is important as well. Also, the chronic nonspecific immune activation of T and B lymphocytes plays an important role in the immunopathogenesis of HIV infection. Aim of the study: To analyze the frequency and functional status of HIV-specific CD8+ T cells and the expression of nonspecific activation markers on B and T cells in HIV+ patients and to assess the effect of combined antiretroviral therapy (cART) on these parameters. Patients and methods: Our cohort included 80 HIV+ patients: 36 HIV+ patients on cART, 18 patients without therapy, in whom cART was introduced during our study, 9 patients without therapy, 10 patients with primary HIV infection, 3 long-term non-progressors and 4 patients initially on cART, in whom the therapy was discontinued. Control group consisted of 34 HIV- healthy individuals. We examined CD4+ a CD8+ T cell counts, viral load, expression of nonspecific activation markers on T cells and the frequency of HIV-specific CD8+ T cells by ELISpot method and flow cytometry using MHC tetramers and intracellular cytokine detection. Results: No significant differences in HIV-specific CD8+ T cells were found between treated and untreated HIV+ patients. The frequency...
Analysis of failed studies at universities in the Czech Republic
Ptáčková, Veronika ; Mazouch, Petr (advisor) ; Hulík, Vladimír (referee)
The master thesis deals with failed studies at universities in the Czech Republic. The first part is focused on literary research, on explanation of theoretical terms and on statistical methods, which are subsequently applied in the analytical part. These are decision trees and logistic regression that helped to determine the influence of factors on studies without graduation. The aim of this master thesis is to find significant factors, to compile a profile of failed students and to suggest the measures which could reduce their elimination from tertiary education.

Funiok, Ondřej ; Pecáková, Iva (advisor) ; Řezanková, Hana (referee)
The thesis deals with the valuation of real estates in the Czech Republic using statistical methods. The work focuses on a complex task based on data from an advertising web portal. The aim of the thesis is to create a prototype of the statistical predication model of the residential properties valuation in Prague and to further evaluate the dissemination of its possibilities. The structure of the work is conceived according to the CRISP-DM methodology. On the pre-processed data are tested the methods regression trees and random forests, which are used to predict the price of real estate.
